Hardships on Cold Mountainà à à The events one goes through in his or her life often shapes the person he or she becomes.à The challenges faced early in life work to strengthen oneââ¬â¢s personality and enable them to live and flourish. In the novel Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier the reader learns about the many obstacles Ruby has had to face while growing up.à These hardships added to the person that she became and made her strong enough to face the obstacles that come later in life.à In being faced with many obstacles in life Ruby was able to learn from them, become a stronger person and therefore survive. à à à à à à à à à à à Because of her lack of love and parenting, Ruby was forced to mature and learn how to survive at unimaginably young age.à Not only did Ruby grow up motherless, she practically grew up without a father.à Stobrod did not only abandon her physically he was never present her for emotionally, and often disclaim her as his own.à He told her the story of how her mother would say ââ¬Å"he had no part in the baby and that its cause was a tall blue heron.â⬠(Pg. 194)à à To gr...
